CH 11: TREE OF DESPAIR

RECAP...John has gone to the outskirts of California several times, but never once did he notice the forest that the old man referred to, but suddenly rose exclaimed that the old man is thus referring it as lost. Again, there was a strong squabble between the troop. Finally, they thought to explore just once and if they could not find it, they'll withdraw their word to Robbie.  

NOW...  Finally, the troop set to the outskirts of California, but it was never an easy task, they had to explain every bit to the people around them, but no one was ready to believe their words. But somehow, they managed those around them and set for the outskirts. But before that Via suggested to meet Robbie so that he could give them some directions to the forest. So, they left out to CalFresh and met Robbie and asked him about the way to the forest. 

He said that there would be a man with a tent on, near a costume shop. He will give you a wood stick if you ask him. Get it and wait till 11:11 p.m. and then at sharp 11:11 take the stick on your hand and wish to see the forest. Everyone looked weird at Robbie. Rose just asked him if they were there for Robbie to make joke of them and Chris exclaimed that he never would believe in magic and the troop started to have a heated argument. Then finally Via and John said that they had to believe in enchantment to try this. 

Now the troop set to the outskirts and started looking out for the man whom Robbie mentioned. They tried looking for a tent, but nowhere could it be found. But finally, they found three tents in all and tried to find in it the person whom Robbie had pointed the first man gave them no response for the stick and so did the second too. The frustrated troop never believed the person would be at the third but thought to give it a try.

When they knocked the tent, a man came out who was nearly Robbie's age. They asked him about Robbie and the magic stick. He exclaimed that he certainly knew it and started to sob lamentably that no one all through the years came in search of it, but finally somebody has come to revive the forest and its history.

Dora tried to console him and asked for the stick. But suddenly Chris's phone rang from CalFresh. He picked it up just to hear something too bad that Robbie's dead out of natural causes. By now the troop was stunned and had no ideas for the upcoming moves.
